What is the job description of an orthodontist?
An orthodontist's day usually begins with checking emails and reviewing the files, pictures and x-rays of that day's patients. Orthodontists typically work in their own offices. During their appointment, each patient is examined carefully to see the progress that has been made in their teeth. Brackets and wires can be readjusted to help guide the teeth into the proper place. They must also document the patients progress through pictures and x-rays. After the treatment, another appointment has to be scheduled, usually by the secretary at the office. When new patients arrive, orthodontists must discuss with the patient and their parents the different treatment options.
